The Sydney Olympic Park 'Home of Sport' integrated model is unique in the world and encompasses every dimension of sport across the areas of training, education, science, events, culture, administration and sport participation for everyone from elite athletes to those who play for health and fitness. The 'Home of Sport' is built on the foundations of our Olympic legacy - best in class sporting facilities, infrastructure and Australian expertise.

The 'Home of Sport' development attracts local, national and international sporting events including Rugby World Cup 2003, Bledisloe Cup, National Swimming Championship, Medibank International Tennis Open, National Athletic Championship and an increasing number of nationally recognised teams who call Sydney Olympic Park 'Home'. There are over 40 different sports played at the Park that attract over four million participants and spectators annually and fifteen sports businesses are located at the Park including the New South Wales Institute of Sport, Basketball Australia and Sydney Sports Medicine Centre.

The Park is also home to 'Sports Knowledge Australia', a joint venture between Sydney Olympic Park Authority, University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney. Sports Knowledge Australia promotes an unparalleled opportunity for Australia to showcase our world-leading expertise in sports science and sports management and will offer world class education and research opportunities to sports science and management students from across Australia and internationally.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority is committed to developing the 'Home of Sport' further by attracting and retaining partners, tenants, academies and new businesses to Sydney Olympic Park who will contribute to this unique, world-class sports hub.
