The Sydney Swans are welcomed to Olympic Park for their 2008 Premiership campaign, playing host to four big name teams at the newly renamed ANZ Stadium. The first of four matches see the Sydney Swans match up against their 2005 and 2006 Grand Final rival West Coast. This match will set up fiery battles against other contenders Essendon, regular ANZ Stadium opponent Collingwood, and 2007 Premiers Geelong.
2008 will be a significant season for the Sydney Swans. New South Welshman Craig Bird has been handed the enormous task of filling former club captain and legend Paul Kelly’s boots by being handed the previously retired No. 14 Guernsey. Craig has already excelled in the No. 14 Guernsey in the pre-season matches, and is excited with the prospects that 2008 hold.
