The SOPAC Swim Team, based at Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, is affiliated with Swimming NSW and is a member of Swimming Metro North West.
The club holds race meets each month and competes against other NSW affiliated clubs at Invitational meets, which are hosted by fellow clubs. The club also competes at NSW State, Metropolitan and District Championships.
The club currently has 3 members who have been selected in the 'Target 2008' Team. This is a team of the best young swimmers in NSW, who will work together in their bid to gain selection in the Olympic Team for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
The club places a great deal of emphasis on our young members. It exists not only to help fund members attending National Championships but also develop and encourage young swimmers. At each of the club meets, 25m races are held for the younger competitors and the swim school participants are hosted twice per year at carnivals.
If you are interested in your family joining the SOPAC Swim Team, please contact the Aquatics Supervisor on 02 9752 3666 or email aquatic@sopac.nsw.gov.au.
The sport of Triathlon has become increasingly popular in recent years and the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre has a Triathlon Club that caters for all the specific needs of triathletes of all levels and abilities. The club welcomes new members without any Triathlon experience as the coaches will assist novices and expert alike on the particulars of the sport.
Training sessions are scheduled in all disciplines at a wide variety of times to suit the busy lifestyles of working and training athletes. Regularly organised club races, seminars, workshops and social events will ensure that Triathlon becomes more than a sport, but a way of life.
