Sydney Olympic Park is home to the largest collection of large-scale site-specific urban art in a single precinct in Australia. With more than 50 single pieces of public art and urban cultural features spread across our multi faceted site, the artworks provide a unique record of the cultural history of the Sydney Olympic Park. This includes works relating to the early Industrial uses of the site, through to the Olympic Games and the current development of the Park as the home to a new creative community.
The Sydney Olympic Park Urban Art Collection is a work in progress that will continue to grow and is currently being reinterpreted as a vibrant outdoor art gallery. Through this program new media works, evolving works and temporary works will enrich the site as much as new permanent site specific works to be commissioned in the future.
The artworks have been divided into 8 categories based on their location in Sydney Olympic Park. In addition to these categories, the Related Works section highlights the works linked to the Sydney Olympic Park urban artworks and the Memory Lane section takes a look at urban artworks at Sydney Olympic Park, that are no longer on display.
