At the Northern end of Olympic Boulevard is a major landmark at Sydney Olympic Park. The Northern Water Feature is an impressive ten metre high fountain which cascades water down granite terraces to the man-made wetland at the edge of Haslams Creek.

This water feature comprises of a series of paved terraces leading down to a pool. The pool is approximately 500 square metres with a water depth ranging from 200-300mm. The feature includes three rows of water plumes. There are two rows located in the terraces and one row in the pool. The water plumes shoot from jets mounted at angles ranging from 35 to 60 degrees to the horizontal, up to 12 m in distance and up to 8 m in height.

The water feature makes visible the cleansing through the marsh of the site's storm water run off. A highly visible, sculptural landscape becomes emblematic of the water systems and ecological underpinnings of the re-creation of a landscape at Sydney Olympic Park.

The water feature is illuminated during the night.
