Achieving Access Resource Document

For the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, an “Achieving Access” resource document was compiled by the former Olympic Park Authority (OCA).

The resource document was prepared to primarily help Event and Venue Managers get a better understanding of disability issues that may impact on their venues and patrons.

The document contained general and specific information on:

The above list was not exhaustive and other information was included relating to disability and access information.

With the dissolution of the OCA the Sydney Olympic Park Authority adopted the resource document.

However, with the passing of time some of the information contained may no longer be absolutely accurate or appropriate for contemporary times. Additionally, the document is quite lengthy and contains in excess of 200 pages. For these reasons, it is not appropriate that the Achieving Access Resource Document be incorporated within the SOPA website.

Notwithstanding, the hard copy version of the document can still be accessed by contacting the Authority on 9714 7300 or enquiries@sopa.nsw.gov.au.

Finally, the Achieving Access resource document has been re-assessed and all appropriate information has been be transferred to the acrobat_icon_small.gif SOPA Access Guidelines 2008 - 2nd Edition (PDF 1.6MB).
