1998 RAIA NSW Chapter

  • BHP Colorbond Award for innovative use of steel architecture, Olympic Park Station - Hassell Pty Ltd.
  • Award of Excellence for the RAS Exhibitor Halls - Ove Aurp & Partners.
  • Boral Timber Award for the Clydesdale Pavilion, Sydney Showground - Suters Architects.
  • Sir John Sulman Award, Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) NSW Chapter for the Olympic Park Rail Station - Hassell Pty Ltd.
  • Commendation for the Temporary Public Domain Overlay which OCA used to transform Homebush Bay during the Royal Easter Show, using a range of signs, hoardings, banners and information towers - Lahz Nimmo Architects.
  • Three other architects involved with OCA projects, Alexander Tzannes (Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf), Peter Stutchbury (Archery Centre) and James Grose (Slalom Canoe Course at the Sydney International Regatta Centre).
  • MDA Excellence in Construction Awards - Building - Sporting Facilities Up to $5,000,000. for the Sydney International Regatta Centre - Abigroup Contractors Pty Ltd.

Communication/Media

  • International Association of Audio Visual Communicators Gold CINDY (International Cinema in Industry) in Sports/Leisure/Recreation to Sydney Showground - 39th Annual International CINDY Competition.

Environment

  • Australian Waste Water Association (AWWA) - Best Practice in Integrated Water Cycle Strategy for Homebush Bay.

  • Metal Building Award of Merit in community /sporting category for the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Communication/Media

  • Gold Hugo Award to Visitor Centre Presentation, Homebush Bay Sydney Showground.
  • International Non-Broadcast Media to OCA for Homebush Bay August Review.
  • OCA received a New York Festivals World Medal.

  • Commendation in Civic Design category ARIA - NSW for the Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Design/Construction

  • 1995 RAIA Merit Award for Public Buildings Awarded to Sydney International Athletics Centre (Olympic Venue).


Environment

  • Gold River Care 2000 Award NSW Department of Land and Water Conservation awarded OCA and its contractor, Waste Services NSW, for the remediation of Haslams Creek South and Kronos Hill.
