Awards 2001

2001 - Banksia Award (Infrastructure and Services category)
Awarded for the Water Reclamation and Management System (WRAMS) developed and operating at Sydney Olympic Park. WRAMS has been in use at the Olympic venues since before the Games, and is a major environmental initiative at Sydney Olympic Park. The award was won on the basis of:

• Leadership - WRAMS demonstrated leadership into a new environmental area.
• National Significance - Water conservation, water recycling and waterway pollution are significant issues across all of Australia and WRAMS contributes to answering these national issues.
• Operational  - The system is actually operating, not just a proposal. Used Olympics productively - to progress and implement a difficult environmental initiative.
