Diary Alert: Festival of Cycling

22-23 October 2005

Whether you own a penny-farthing, a freestyle BMX or an ordinary push-bike, you will need to mark the weekend of October 22-23 in your diary for the Festival of Cycling at Sydney Olympic Park.

For the first time ever, Sydney’s premier cycling destination will set the wheels in motion for all things cycling, offering a range of activities suitable for all ages and fitness levels, including:

  • Bicycling Australia Show (The Dome, Sydney Showground 22 & 23 October)
  • Portfolio Partners Sydney Spring Cycle (Sunday 23 Oct). This fun recreational cycle will have up to 10,000 riders this year. It starts at North Sydney, travels across the Harbour Bridge and finishes at Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Festival of Cycling - Super Sunday (23 October), There’ll be free entertainment, cycling activities, giveaways, live music, delicious food and drinks at the Boulevard market, as well as bike safaris and a taste of other exciting cycling activities on offer at the Overflow, Sydney Olympic Park.

So grab your helmet and riding gear for an exciting, invigorating spring weekend of pedal power with a group of friends, the family, or just you and your bike!
