Sydney Olympic Park provides conference inspiration on Olympic scale

For the third year running, Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Accor Hotels and the Sydney SuperDome will provide elite conference organisers with a superb showcase of their venues and entertainment facilities at Inspiration 2005.

A record 200 PCO’s and event organisers from around Australia will converge on the Park for the popular trade event, which will this year include guest speakers from some of Australia’s leading sporting, business and literary professions.

This year Inspiration 2005 will commence with a breakfast at the Novotel Hotel where guest speakers will include Beach Volleyball Olympic Gold Medallist Kerri Pottharst, former Rugby Union Wallaby, Dan Crowley, leading business futurist Craig Rispin, super Sales Manager and motivator Robin Daubeny, and author of ‘Mao’s Last Dancer’, Li Cunxin.

"The idea behind Inspiration is to provide conference organisers with a host of ideas for future events from the food that they serve, to the entertainment they organise and the venue they secure," said the Regional Director Business Travel Sales at Accor Hotels Ms Jakki Govan.

As part of the 2005 event, guests will also tour the Sydney Olympic Park precinct, including the Sydney SuperDome where they’ll experience an unforgettable lunch, from the award winning catering team, and enjoy the finest in live entertainment.

“We have a range of high-quality entertainment on offer at Inspiration 2005, including singing trio ‘The Leading Men’; the ‘String Angels’, billed as “full throttle classical entertainment”; and comedic duo ‘Tan Jose’”, Chief Executive Officer for the Sydney SuperDome Mr David Humphries said.

The event is another sign of the strength in business events at the park, holding over 3,300 events in 2004.

“Sydney Olympic Park is positioning itself as a leader in the business events market in New South Wales. No other destination offers such a diverse array of business event facilities for meetings, exhibitions, conventions and private functions,” Chief Executive Officer for Sydney Olympic Park Authority Mr Brian Newman said.

As major sponsors for the event, the Sydney SuperDome and Accor will be offering prizes for guests attending Inspiration 2005. These include two tickets to see Luciano Pavarotti perform his farewell tour at the Sydney SuperDome on 5 November, and accommodation prizes from selected Accor hotels and resorts.

Other major sponsors of Inspiration 2005 include the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Aim Higher Marketing, Staging Connections, the experts in conference and event set up, and ICMI. Inspiration 2005 will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on 19 October. For enquiries phone Aim Higher Marketing on 9680 9311 or to register email alana.hay@sopa.nsw.gov.au
