Sweet-toothed foodies from far and wide will descend upon Sydney Olympic Park for the Boulevard Market on Sunday 27 August 2006, especially with the mouth-watering cakes and tarts that will be prepared to tempt onlookers.

Pastry chef and co-owner of The Yellow Bistro & Food Store in Potts Point, Lorraine Godsmark will be delighting onlookers as she prepares an apple brown butter tart and strawberry mascarpone cake.

Lorraine is a leader in her field having created her own light, contemporary style as Executive Pastry Chef for Rockpool where she developed the now famous ‘Date Tarte’. Her emphasis on light, freshly baked quality products has earned her the reputation of being a dessert expert.

A Boulevard Market on desserts wouldn’t be complete without French representation, and joining Lorraine at the Boulevard Market will be husband and wife pastry chefs, Olivier and Beatrice from BEB Fine Patisserie in Ultimo.

As suppliers for the French Consul, French Australian Chamber of Commerce, The French Trade Commission, as well as Companies like L’Oreal, Louis Vuitton, L'Occitane, it seems the French residents in Sydney know where to find the best traditional after dinner treats.

Learning their culinary skills in the South-East of France, the pastry chef couple picked up some trade secrets in London, then Paris and Tahiti before arriving in Sydney. Now Lorraine and Olivier will be sharing their secret tips to help any Aussie make a traditional and truly delicious chocolate tart.

Joanna Savill, Producer/Presenter of SBS ‘The Food Lovers’ Guide to Australia’, who is the popular MC at the Boulevard Market, will host the cooking demonstrations at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.

And there’s no better classroom than 'Kid’s Kitchen Capers', which has a range of free arts and crafts activities from 10am-2pm.

And if the delicious desserts aren’t enough to tempt onlookers, all the specialty stalls surely will. There is a smorgasbord of international food, goods, crafts, fashion accessories and homewares for shoppers looking for that special something. It is truly a colourful and vibrant experience.

Free entertainment will keep all market-goers smiling and if that doesn’t, the chance to win lucky door prizes surely will.

The Boulevard Market is located at Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park and run from 9.00am-2.00pm on Sunday August 27.
