The culinary wonders of Spain will be unveiled at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday, 28 October when the Boulevard Market says ‘hola’ – or hello - to tapas.
Guest chef, Adrian Paita, of El Bulli tapas restaurant in Surry Hills, will be showing market-goers how to host a hot Spanish fiesta this summer, with tips on preparing great tapas dishes like churros, Spanish tortillas, whitebait and the Spanish secret to a great party, sangria.
Spanish tortillas, or tortilla espaņola can be described as a potato omelette but it is more robust and gratifying and the perfect party snack due to its versatility. The tortillas are one of the most popular dishes at Adrian’s restaurant.
El Bulli opened 18 months ago and was an obvious progression for Adrian, who had been wooing his friends with backyard BBQ’s and his famous ‘chimmi churri’ chicken and sangria fiestas.
With his Argentinean and Spanish heritage, Adrian finely tweaked his family’s best culinary secrets and combined them with his killer sangria mix to create a tapas restaurant that has been packed with diners week in week out since opening.
At the Boulevard Market, Adrian will be demonstrating how to prepare delicious tapas recipes in three cooking demonstrations at 11am, 12pm and 1pm , which are hosted by Joanna Savill, producer and presenter of the SBS series, ‘The Food Lovers’ Guide to Australia’.
The Boulevard Market is a monthly event for beginners and experienced cooks alike. For one Sunday every month, Sydney Olympic Park is transformed into a themed marketplace with a range of vibrant attractions and a colourful line-up of food, fashion and fun that will both entertain and educate.
What’s more, the Boulevard Market is perfect for the whole family. While parents are served some creative cooking ideas, the kids will be kept more than entertained with FREE arts and crafts at ‘Kids’ Kitchen Capers.’
So bring your family and friends along to the Boulevard Market between 9.00am and 2.00pm on Sunday October 28 and learn how to have the best Spanish fiesta just in time for summer!
