Calling all future Jason Smiths,,Stephanie Rices and Anna Meares’! Sydney Olympic Park is going sports mad during the school holidays, with a Kids in the Park spring line-up that’s sure to attract future sporting superstars from all fields!
From 27 September to 12 October, almost every sport under the sun will be on offer for aspiring top athletes. With everything from basketball to bike safaris, floorball to flying trapeze, swimming to skateboards, Monster Mountain BMXs to mini golf and much, much, more; parents will have no trouble finding ways to keep even the most restless kids amused, entertained and occupied for hours on end.
One of the standout attractions of this season’s Kids in the Park program is a special Basketball Clinic taught by players from the Sydney Spirit Team, which is competing in Australia’s National Basketball League. At this special event, kids aged nine to 12 will learn all the hot tips on how to improve their basketball skills! The one-day-only Basketball Clinic will be held at 10.00am on Tuesday 30 September and bookings are essential.
For kids who want to take a step on the wild side, the i.S.K.A.T.E Academy Skateboard Clinics held at Monster Skate Park are the perfect opportunity to let loose! Taking place at the biggest skate park in the Southern Hemisphere, the clinics provide a great way for both beginners and skilled riders to improve their skateboarding skills while practicing safe falling techniques, gaining confidence and understanding how to set and achieve goals.
Creative kids looking for an exercise with a difference will love clowning around at the Flying Trapeze Workshops. Available to kids of all ages, these 90-minute sessions will be complete with hangs, flips and catches, allowing just about anyone to fly through the air on a full-size trapeze like a gold medal gymnast! When combined with the Circus Skills Workshops – where kids can learn to juggle, walk the tight wire, low trapeze and get a laugh out of just about anyone – Kids in the Park is set to create a new generation of Aussie ringmasters, acrobats, contortionists and clowns.
And if that’s not enough, Sydney Olympic Park has loads more activities for sporty kids these spring holidays including a variety of sports clinics where kids can learn the basics and develop new skills under the guidance and watchful eyes of qualified coaches and trainers. The clinics accommodate all skill levels:
Plus, bike hire is available everyday of the holidays and with three unique (and FREE!) ‘Bike Safari’ Cycling Circuits, kids can explore the parklands and view the shipwrecks in the Bay. Kids can also play at Sydney Olympic Park’s
18 hole mini-golf course and the Phizz Kidz Holiday Program means sports mad tots aged three-to-seven years won’t be left out with a range of sports activities as well as arts, crafts and cooking to keep them occupied and entertained.
Finally for those super sporty kids, Sydney Olympic Park’s ALL DAY Holiday Recreation Program is the ultimate school holiday boredom buster. The program is action-packed with a vast variety of activities including: aussie rules and rugby league skill clinics, waterslides, sporting clinics, arts and crafts, cooking, Olympic Park tours and so much more!
So to release your kids’ inner sports star or just some pent-up holiday energy, Sydney Olympic Park is the perfect spot for kids these spring school holidays!
