If the thought of delicate French cakes, light-as-a-feather tuiles and exquisite tea send your tastebuds into a frenzy, then pirouette along to the Boulevard Market at Sydney Olympic Park on Sunday, September 23!
Discover the secrets to an authentic French tea party as highly esteemed pastry and culinary chefs, Beatrice and Olivier Levanti demonstrate the fine art of French cookery and tea brewing. The pair trained in France in prestigious schools including Lenôtre and Bellouet Conseil, and worked in famous patisseries and five-star hotels including Ladurée in Paris, SBM/Alain Ducasse in Monaco, the Grand-Hôtel du Cap Ferrat Relais et Chateau, the Hotel Negresco in Nice and Albert Roux in London.
They also cooked at famous events such as the Cannes Film Festival, Monaco Grand Prix and the Monaco International Tennis Tournament. After obtaining permanent residency in Australia, they opened their own business in Sydney called BEB Fine Patisserie, specialising in fine cakes, French breads, jams and biscuits.
Given their unique expertise in French patisserie and cooking, Beatrice and Olivier sold their business to open a cooking school called the Beatrice Levanti, French Gourmet Academy. It caters for young chefs and non-professional clients who are keen to learn about good food and professional cooking techniques.
The couple has also developed a wholesale business in fine foods and organic rare teas called Beatrice Levanti, Rare Teas and Delicacies.
Beatrice and Olivier will be demonstrating their delicious recipes in three cooking demonstrations at 11am, 12pm and 1pm at the Boulevard Market. Joanna Savill, Producer/Presenter of SBS ‘The Food Lovers’ Guide to Australia’, will host the demonstrations. Authentic French music by Philippe Wittwer & Friends will add to the Parisian atmosphere.
The Boulevard Market is a monthly event for beginners and experienced cooks alike. For one Sunday every month, Sydney Olympic Park is transformed into a themed marketplace with a range of vibrant attractions and a colourful line-up of food, fashion and fun that will both entertain and educate.
What’s more, the Boulevard Markets aren’t just for adults! While parents are served some creative cooking ideas, the kids will be kept more than entertained with FREE arts and crafts at ‘Kids’ Kitchen Capers.’
So bring the whole family along to the September Boulevard Market with guest chefs, Beatrice Levanti and Olivier, between 9.00am and 2.00pm on Sunday September 23 and enjoy a taste of France in true style!
