29 September 2008

Whether your cycling tastes are a leisurely ride around the park or road racing, the Festival of Cycling at Sydney Olympic Park is the perfect opportunity to amp up your pedal power!

The wheels will be set in motion over two days from Saturday the 18th to Sunday the 19th of October, with an array of events and activities for ‘bikies’ of all ages and fitness levels, as well as spectators and participants.

Now in its fourth year, activities at the Festival of Cycling 2008 will include:

The City of Sydney Spring Cycle 2008
Sunday 19th October 2008

Sydney’s premier annual recreational cycling event, the City of Sydney Spring Cycle is enjoyed by thousands of cyclists of all ages and abilities. This year’s event is expected to attract more than 10,000 entrants and will introduce two new routes: Ride Blacktown and Ride Liverpool. Of course the Ride North Sydney route will again be a feature of this year’s event, allowing cyclists the chance to take in spectacular sights as they pedal across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. With all routes to end at Olympic Boulevard, the gentle 7 kilometres Ride the Park track around Sydney Olympic Park is an ideal option for families.

The City of Sydney Spring Cycle is not a race but a recreational event for Sydney-siders who enjoy being active, social and outdoors on weekends. With ride distances from 7 to 55 kilometres, anyone can join in and be part of this great day out to help raise funds for the MS Society.
