Sydney Olympic Park will be a paradise for kids during the last week of the July school holidays, thanks to the brilliant assortment of activities on offer as part of the Kids in the Park Program.
There are activities to suit every child including Disney on Ice’s Mickey and Minnie’s Amazing Journey, indoor soccer, an all-day Holiday Recreation Program, Flying Trapeze Fun, gymnastics clinics, circus workshops, and swimming clinics.
Disney on Ice takes kids on a sight-seeing tour of the imagination with Mickey and Minnie’s Amazing Journey. Travelling to five amazing destinations, kids will experience an all-in-one action-packed ice show.
The all-day Holiday Recreation Program will end any school holiday boredom with activities such as diving, basketball, water slides, obstacle courses, gymnastics, arts and crafts and Olympic Park tours. The Recreation Program suits kids that love to get outside and use their minds as well as their muscles and is perfect for busy parents because it provides all-day entertainment for the young ones.
Kids can discover their inner circus performer and experience Flying Trapeze Fun with Circus Arts. Flying through the air on a full size flying trapeze with the greatest of ease, hanging upside down, flipping and even attempting a catch up on the Flying Trapeze, this workshop will surely excite the inner performer and stir up laughter, fun and delight. Kids can also learn to juggle, walk the tight wire, balance and low trapeze at the Holiday Circus Skills Workshop.
The gymnastics clinic will be filled with amusement as kids try to balance, tumble, swing, trampoline, jump and play games in a fun and safe environment. Parents need not worry as kids are in the hands of fully qualified gymnastics coach who will teach the right skills and techniques to those trying to conquer the balancing beam and mini trampoline.
The Aquatic Centre will be buzzing with hopeful champion swimmers when they participate in one of the three Swimming Programs run by qualified swim coaches. The giant inflatables will be in operation over the course of the school holidays and are free with entry price.
Kids looking for an activity that will take them into another world should try one of the Writing Workshops being held at Bicentennial Park. Vogel Award winner Bernard Cohen leads the Workshops that focus on helping students write imaginative pieces.
There are Writing Workshops for students hoping to attend a selective school in 2009, HSC students and also for kids that just love writing hilarious stories and poems.
The diverse range of activities on offer at Sydney Olympic Park should not be missed as it will be the source of constant fun and entertainment for school kids with endless energy.
