Preparing seafood will no longer be a mystery, at least for visitors to Sydney Olympic Park’s Boulevard Market, as three of Sydney’s best chefs join forces to show that cooking seafood can actually be a simple task.
Food lovers will be treated to insider tips on seafood by specialist chefs from some of Sydney’s leading restaurants at this month’s Boulevard Market on Sunday, 26 November at Sydney Olympic Park.
Longrain chef Griff Pamment, Restaurant Balzac Head Chef Steve Krasicki and seafood expert Hugh Wennerbom from Joto Fresh Fish will be giving onlookers a mouth-watering seafood demonstration as they demonstrate how easy preparing seafood can be.
Griff Pamment, chef at Longrain, is a true seafood master. Having working at Bill’s and Rockpool before working as a private chef in the Hampton's, New York, Pamment returned to Sydney to work at Billy Kwong before finally settling at Longrain. Pamment is renowned for his work on TV shows, Heart and Soul and Bill’s Food with Bill Grainger, so he will be sure to keep market-goers entertained with his cooking antics.
From his first restaurant, Sandpiper, in Canada to Chez Nico in London, Krasicki has travelled the world honing his culinary skills. He spent time as Sous Chef at Banc before finally settling in 2002 at Restaurant Balzac in Randwick where his trademark dishes are seafood specialties.
Joining him will be Hugh Wennerbom of Joto Fresh Fish, a seafood wholesaler to both leading restaurants and direct to the public. Truly a seafood expert, Wennerbom has been a chef at Stephanie's, Bennelong and Sean's Panaroma, as well as being a private cook for Leo Schofield when he was in residence at Bronte House. Wennerbom is vastly experienced, having over 18 years varied experience in the industry.
Joanna Savill, food writer for the Sydney Morning Herald and of SBS Food Lovers Guide, will host the cooking demonstrations at 11am, 12pm and 1pm.
The Boulevard Market features a wonderful line-up of international food, market stalls, crafts, fashion accessories, homewares, and essential cooking ingredients.
If keeping the kids entertained is a priority, 'Kids Kitchen Capers' is the perfect solution with free arts and crafts from 10am-2pm.
The Boulevard Market is a free event and is located at Olympic Boulevard, Sydney Olympic Park and operates between 9.00am-2.00pm on Sunday November 26.
