State Plan - A New Direction for NSW

It’s all about the team: motivate your staff at Sydney Olympic Park

Next time you’re company is planning a training day why not consider hosting it at Sydney Olympic Park where you’re guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience.

The Sydney Olympic Park Authority, working with some of Australia’s leading team builders, has introduced a new range of team building programs aimed to attract companies and organisations from right across the country.

The unique opportunity allows companies to train their staff in one of the many venues located within the Park, and at the same time include a variety of indoor and outdoor team building activities as part of their workshop experience.

The specialised offering is suitable for all ages, interests, abilities and appeals to a range of budgets. There is a range of programs themed to suite every taste including wellbeing initiatives, interactive entertainment, outdoor sporting activities, creative workshops, adventure challenges, and experiential learning.

Chief Executive Officer for Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Mr Brian Newman says that the new team-building program is especially suited to the Park and its surrounds.

“With nine venues and over 90 indoor and outdoor spaces to choose from, Sydney Olympic Park is the perfect location for any type of team activity. Those attending the programs will have the opportunity to experience these activities within our premier venues or the choice to explore open parklands in some of Sydney’s most historic pockets of land,” Mr Newman said.

“The aim of the team-building program is to motivate your team, and in turn get the most out of your staff. They have an opportunity to build relationships with one-another and overcome challenges along the way,” Mr Newman added.

Sydney Olympic Park has a growing reputation for hosting brilliant corporate events. In 2005 the Park hosted more than 1,470 business events (meetings, exhibitions and conferences), which were valued at more than $20 million dollars. The precinct is also fast becoming a popular location for companies to relocate with more than 60 businesses and 4,000 workers now located at the Park.

Adding to this popularity, the Sydney Olympic Park Authority recently welcomed a deal with one of Australia’s largest financial corporations, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, which will relocate around 5,000 staff to the Park by 2009.

Some of the team building businesses participating in the initiative includes; the State Sports Centre, the historic Newington Armory, Quazar Trapeze, the Golf Centre, Monster Skate Park, Telstra Stadium and Archery park.
