Climate Change: the winners and losers

Our future up for discussion at Sydney Olympic Park

This Saturday, 23 October 2004, Sydney Olympic Park will host the second annual bird week lecture that will examine the important issue of climate change in Australia.

Titled 'Global warming winner and losers: the impact of climate change on Australian ecosystems' the lecture will be hosted by Dr Lesley Hughes, senior lecturer in Ecology at Macquarie University.

The informative presentation will be followed by an open forum with an expert panel of environmental and scientific professionals from across the country.

The weekend event will see some of the industry's top professionals attending, including Professor Graeme Pearman AM from Monash University, Senior project manager with the NSW Department of Environment and conservation Roger Good, Dr Neil Saintilan Director for Centre for Environmental Restoration and Stewardship, Edwina Laginestra, Manager research programs and John Hudson, Manager information services and programs, both from Sydney Olympic Park.

The weekend event will be accompanied by a series of free community walks around Sydney Olympic Park, designed to educate and entertain visitors.

The second annual bird week lecture will be held at Building 22 Newington Armory Sydney Olympic Park. Entry via Jamieson Street (off Holker street). Gates open at 1pm.

Entry is $25.00 adults and $15.00 concession. Afternoon tea will be provided.
