Sydney Olympic Park welcomes Questacon, Australia's leading interactive science and technology centre, to Sydney for the first time to showcase its Sports Quest and NRMA RoadZone exhibitions. A popular Canberra icon for 15 years, Questacon will present two exhibitions that are ideal for both families and students in the State Sport Centre's Hall of Champions at Sydney Olympic Park from 27 September 2003.
Sports Quest exhibition consists of six colourful exhibits that cover a range of topics related to the science and technology behind sport and everyday life.
Visitors can test how fast they can throw a ball, or cycle on the Energy Bike to see how long it takes to work off different foods. Questo, the bike riding pneumatic robot challenges visitors to coordinate his muscles, while Tune In tests visitors' skills as they attempt to ride a virtual skateboard and tune in a radio.
NRMA RoadZone exhibition is an interactive road safety exhibition aimed at 9 - 14 year olds and challenges students to explore the importance of road safety through innovative, hands-on exhibits.
There are twenty exhibits demonstrating how to survive on the roads of the fictitious town of 'Hazard Point'. Students can conduct their own crash dummy tests, test their talent for spotting risks, design their own bike helmet, guess the real speed of cars, cross a busy road safely, play Street Quiz and Wheel of Misfortune and discover the impact of peer pressure.
