State Plan - A New Direction for NSW

Wheels in motion for the BMX GAMES 2005

Sydney Olympic Park will showcase the best international freestyle BMX riders and the finest new-blood Aussie talent at the 2005 BMX Games over the ANZAC weekend.

The 2005 BMX Games will feature all disciplines of action sport including dirt, park, mini ramp, vert ramp and flatland at amateur and professional levels.

King of Dirt, Luke Wetherall is returning to Sydney Olympic Park to defend his crown, along with World Champion Luke Fink, and various other riders from overseas with X-Games Gold.

This is an emerging event in Australia and the hype and excitement is escalating for both riders and spectators who can expect to witness some incredible thrills and spills over the weekend.

“We are excited to be hosting the 2005 BMX Games at Sydney Olympic Park. Freestyle BMX is an emerging sport in this country and it’s great we are able to support Australia’s best riders and host those from overseas. It also reflects the precinct’s dedication to being one of the world’s premiere sporting destinations, for all kinds of sports,” said Sydney Olympic Park CEO, Brian Newman.

The BMX Games kick off Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th of April at 10.00am CNR Olympic Boulevard & Grand Parade, Sydney Olympic Park.
