Sydney Olympic Park with its extraordinary natural environment and state-of-the-art sporting and event facilities, is one of Sydney’s most unique and diverse locations for shooting your next film, television commercial, still shoot, advertising campaign and wedding photography. Sydney Olympic Park can accommodate all set and crew sizes.

Located just 14km from the Sydney CBD and 19km from the airport, Sydney Olympic Park is centrally located on the axis of the metropolitan road network and easily accessible, with its own railway station, dedicated bus and ferry services, coach and charter bus parking and over 10,000 car parking spaces on site.

Sydney Olympic Park extends from M4 motorway and the surrounding suburb of Newington through to the Parramatta River.

The 640-hectare site includes:

• One of the largest urban parklands in the world, incorporating Bicentennial Park, Blaxland Riverside Park, Wentworth Common, Woo-la-ra, Haslams Creek Flats, Kronos Hill and Wilson Park.
• World-class sporting, entertainment, hotel and recreation facilities
• Newington Armory heritage precinct featuring over 100 heritage buildings of various ages and types set amidst a landscape of undulating hills, woodlands and wetlands

Filming Application & Approval Process

Applications for all commercial film, photography and television activities are required to be submitted in writing. Once an application is submitted, the Filming Coordinator will assess the application and its requirements. If approved the applicant will be issued with a licence agreement outlining the terms and conditions relating to the shoot.

Public Liability insurance of $20 million must accompany the application, noting Sydney Olympic Park Authority as an interested party.

All filming fees and bond must be paid prior to the shoot commencing as well as receiving the signed licence agreement.

All crew must be complete a site induction prior to the shoot commencing.

Wedding Photography

Traffic Management

A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) may be required if the shoot involves any of the local roadways. Please indicate on your application and discuss with the Filming Coordinator.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority has a Traffic Manager on site who will assess and approve the plan, you are not required to contact the RTA.
