Youth Eco Summit (YES) at Newington Armory

The Youth Eco Summit (YES) held at Newington Armory, Sydney Olympic Park on 23-24 October 2013 was hugely successful.

The unique, curriculum-based sustainability event attracted over participants from around the globe. The program promoted student leadership and showcases sustainability achievements and practices in both primary and secondary schools.

In 2013 YES attracted 6600 Students, 153 Schools and over 55 program providers. This year 77 schools participated via video conferencing, including from schools from Alaska, Germany, Vanuatu, and Malaysia. More 

ARTEXPRESS at the Armory 2014

We invite you and your visual arts students to attend ARTEXPRESS at the Armory from 4 March-27 April 2014. ARTEXPRESS is an initiative of the NSW Department of Education and Communities and the Board of Studies NSW. ARTEXPRESS at the Armory is the largest of all the annual metropolitan exhibitions and features paintings, drawings, sculptures, photography and new media artworks created by more than 70 talented students. New Video Resources for Teachers

Check out our online video resources featuring a range of field education techniques and investigations. These free instructional videos are delivered by our qualified staff and provide a wealth of information for teachers and are available online at the Sydney Olympic Park Education YouTube channel. Over 30 webisodes provide useful pre or post-exercises that can be combined with your next excursion to Sydney Olympic Park.
 

 

School excursion programs

Our School Programs are outcomes-driven, hands-on and engaging. They’re tailored for children from Kindergarten right through to Year 12 with half a million students visiting Sydney Olympic Park each year. We also provide Professional Development activities for teachers. To see what students can experience take a look at our online virtual tours.

For delegations looking for ‘behind the scenes’ information on the running of Sydney Olympic Park, we offer Technical Insight Tours which, naturally, are structured to your group’s specific needs.

Sustainable management of 430 hectares of parklands give us fertile areas for scientific research, the findings of which are shared through our Wetlands Education and Training Workshops that are held throughout the year.
