Our vision is to create a world class precinct for education in sport, health, arts and environmental sustainability.
Education supports the Authority’s mission:
‘To manage the evolution of the Park from its Olympic state to a vibrant town incorporating one of the largest, most diverse urban parklands in Australia.’
The creation of an Education Campus is integral to Sydney Olympic Park Authority’s vision for the future. The precinct is already home to a number of education providers such as the Australian College of Physical Education, the NSW Institute of Sport and Sport Knowledge Australia. Negotiations are well advanced to establish additional facilities providing a range of life long learning opportunities.School programs at Sydney Olympic Park offer a range of outcomes driven, fun, hands-on school excursions designed to excite and inspire students from K to 12. We also provide professional development activities for teachers.
We offer customised Technical Insight Tours which are perfect for local and international delegations wanting ‘behind the scenes’ information about the management, planning and day-to-day operations of this large, diverse urban park. The experience can be tailored to suit specific focus areas including Olympic legacy, environmental sustainability and place management.
Sydney Olympic Park Authority manages 175 hectares of estuarine and freshwater wetlands. Our scientific research findings and the successful implementation of research in the management of wetlands is shared through our Wetlands Education and Training (WET) Workshops, held several times a year. Teacher professional development workshops relating to the use of GIS are held in conjunction with this program.
