EnergyAustralia Education Centre is a great place for learning about renewable energyEnergyAustralia

EnergyAustralia and Sydney Olympic Park Authority have entered into a partnership to deliver renewable energy education programs at the historic Newington Armory.Senior_students_using_voltm

The Authority has an ongoing commitment to energy conservation and the use of renewable energy at the Park.  As EnergyAustralia has a focus on providing sustainable energy, this partnership is an excellent fit.

This is a stunning example of sustainability at work as an historic building at Newington Armory has been retrofitted for the delivery of environmental education.

The EnergyAustralia Education Centre is a new hub for school excursions where students gain an appreciation of renewable energy sources such as solar, thermal, wind, hydro, tidal and biomass.

Students are introduced to these sources of renewable energy through a range of hands-on activities.

One activity enables students to build model cars and see these powered by a range of renewable energy sources.

Through these programs, EnergyAustralia and Sydney Olympic Park Authority are helping students meet key syllabus outcomes in Science, but more importantly enabling them to make informed environmental choices in the future.
