Transurban - Roads to Sustainability

Roads to SustainabilityRoads to Sustainability is a joint initiative between Sydney Olympic Park Authority and Transurban, supported by the NSW Department of Education & Training (DET). The partnership offers students from metropolitan schools in DET's Priority Schools Program  the opportunity to participate in cutting edge environmental education excursions.

The Priority Schools Program provides allocations of funding and extra teaching support to schools identified as having particular needs. Through the generous sponsorship of Transurban, up to 3000 students from around 50 of these schools will have FREE access to quality field-based education exploring environmental issues.

Across the 640-hectare site, including 425 hectares of parklands, Sydney Olympic Park offers a range of outcomes driven, fun, hands-on school programs designed to excite and inspire students of all ages. These programs cover a range of Key Learning Areas including Human Society and Its Environment, Science & Technology, Geography, Science, Biology with Environmental Education principles themed throughout all programs.

With the support of corporate partners like Transurban, Sydney Olympic Park Authority is able to continue delivering high quality, inclusive field education programs which benefit students and their communities.

An application process has been created to select schools to be involved in the Roads to Sustainability program.
