Sydney Olympic Park primary school excursions offer students a hands-on experience in a unique outdoor classroom, Bicentennial Park.

Our interactive primary school programs support learning outcomes for Years 3–4.  Field trips to Sydney Olympic Park are 2 hours duration and are lead by qualified, passionate educators.

Stage 2 school excursions:

Outcomes and activities

Students explore a managed parkland, using investigative techniques, fieldwork and discussion to:

  • consider human impacts on natural environments
  • learn about seasons and life cycles
  • explore mini ecosystems
  • apply primary mathematics skills to the natural world.

Activities are challenging and exploratory, and may include:

  • adventure trails through wetlands and dry forest
  • observing tidal patterns
  • finding tiny mangrove creatures
  • comparing traditional Aboriginal uses and current uses of the parklands.

Free PDHPE activity

Combine your Sydney Olympic Park field trip with a PDHPE activity. This self-service extension option is totally free. There are plenty of wide open spaces at the Park for students to run around and practise their sports skills. So grab our specially designed kit with activity instructions and support equipment (balls, hoops, witches hats, parachutes, team sashes and more). Did we mention it’s free?
