Sydney Olympic Park Authority is a NSW Government agency committed to the protection of customer’s privacy and personal information. When you use the Sydney Olympic Park website and / or the Monster website, your privacy is protected under the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. Personal information may only be disclosed in accordance with the exemptions provided under the Act.
Any information you provide about yourself to Sydney Olympic Park Authority and / or via the Monster website will only be used in accordance with our
Privacy Management Plan or contact the Sydney Olympic Park Authority Privacy Coordinator (see contact details below).
Users - A visitor to this website or person who contacts the Authority, through email, phone or post.
Registered Users - A person who has registered to receive specific information from the Authority.
We collect information from our users through:
We collect a range of information including; personal information; anonymous information such as website usage; and visitation and video footage captured via web cameras.
When collecting personal information we may collect details such as, home or work place addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, your date of birth, your interests, how you heard about us and other information.
The minimum information we require to become a Registered User includes; 'First Name', 'Last name', 'email address', 'postcode', 'How did you find out about us' and 'What are your Interests'. All other registration questions are optional.
We may also ask some further questions for different purposes, such as competitions, feedback forms or opinion polls, so we can gain a clearer understanding of our Users.
The provision of personal details in all cases is optional.
When you access our website, our web server logs anonymous information for standard statistical analysis, such as:
The statistics package collates the data into information and graphs for use in understanding the usage patterns of visitors to our website. The statistics package does not identify any individual user during this process.
Sydney Olympic Park has three web cameras. Two of these camera are positioned on top of the Novotel Hotel. These cameras are directly connected to our Visitor Gateway via CCTV, to touch screen information kiosks, where visitors to the Gateway only are able to control the cameras and view the park. The cameras contain zoom, pan and tilt capabilities.
One camera is positioned at Monster Skatepark, mounted at the skate ramp. This camera streams live footage to the Monster website. The footage is not recorded or used for promotional purposes.
Any information submitted to the Authority and / or Monster Skatepark is treated with the utmost respect for your privacy. Where we collect personal information from you, you will only be contacted by Sydney Olympic Park Authority or Monster Skatepark (where information collected relates to Monster Skatepark). We collect your information primarily to provide a service to you or to help us improve services we offer.

At times we may share anonymous information with our advertisers, sponsors and partners. Whilst your individual information is protected as outlined above, we may use aggregated, anonymous data about our users as a group, for statistical purposes. For example, we might report to our partners that a certain percentage of our users are interested in certain events and activities, based on information requests. This is done to attract better and improved services for our users from our advertisers, sponsors and partners.
Parental consent is required when personal information is obtained from children, for example Kids in the Park colouring competitions. There are situations though, such as online registrations, competitions and feedback forms, where children do provide information. The Authority and Monster Skatepark understand the importance of protecting the safety and privacy of children using our services, so encourage parents/carers to monitor at all times in their child's online experience and when providing information to us.
