Training at Sydney Olympic Park

Sydney Olympic Park aims to have a workforce of 10,000 people on site by 2007. Workplace training will play a key role in developing and maintaining a world class customer service culture for the benefit of all visitors.

Workplace training opportunities can also be developed to support all businesses located at Sydney Olympic Park.

TAFE NSW supported the delivery of the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with over one million hours of training being provided to 110,000 people, including managers and volunteers. The Sydney Olympic Park Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with TAFE NSW South-Western Sydney Institute in January 2003 to support the current and future workforce.

South Western Sydney Institute will draw on expertise and resources from across TAFE NSW to provide:

  • customised training programs
  • interactive resources
  • consultancy services
  • course and career information.

All employers located at Sydney Olympic Park can be supported through this agreement. The partnership does not exclude other providers of workplace training from being involved in Sydney Olympic Park's exciting future.
