Investigating the World: Global Environments, Wetlands - Geography - Stage 4 (Year 7)

Aims

For the students to develop an understanding of the nature of wetland environments, their importance and values and our interaction with them

Use fieldwork techniques to collect primary data

Make and record observations about environments in written and graphical form

Work co-operatively and cohesively within group situations

Draw conclusions and make generalisations

Provide an opportunity for the development of positive attitudes toward the environment so they may take an active role in its sustainability

Outcomes

In learning about the wetlands at Sydney Olympic Park, students will work towards the following Stage 4 Outcomes in the new Years 7-10 Geography Syllabus:
