A cure for the back-to-school winter blues

The ultimate remedy for a case of the back-to-school blues is a dose of Sydney Olympic Park’s famous Kids in the Park program because it is choc-full of fun come rain, hail or shine EVERY DAY of the school holidays.

The Kids in the Park July 2011 program boasts heaps of indoor activity options at various venues within Sydney Olympic Park such as the Sports Halls, where qualified instructors will teach Badminton for Beginners on the last Thursday of the winter school holidays. Also on 14 July, Badminton Skills Dedvelopment for kids who already know how to play the popular sport will be available for $27.50 per child aged 8-14 years.

Table Tennis for Beginners as well as Table Tennis Skills Development classes will also be offered at the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls for $27.50 per child on Tuesday 12 July 2011.

Under the roof of the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, it is always a comfortable 26 degrees which means kids can splish and splash to their heart’s content EVERY DAY of the holidays no matter the winter weather outside. With water slides, jets and cannons, a huge dumping bucket, a bubble beach and a river rapids ride, Splasher’s Water Playground is safe fun for all ages and… the cost of entry is only $6 per child and $7 per adult!

At the Education Centre Tower at Bicentennial Park, kids with a creative streak can let their imagingations run wild before the back-to-school bell rings, during one of six Writing Workshops developed by Vogel-award winning author Bernard Cohen.

Another fun indoor option for creative kids is Flamenco dance, which will be on at the Armory Theatre on Sunday 17 July. Also on the final day of the July school holidays, Sydney Olympic Park will stage the latest and greatest in kids live entertainment during the kid-rock Rhymes Festival from 9.00am – 4.00pm.

With a myriad of other activities to choose from – including plenty of FREE and GOOD-VALUE options at $20 or less per child – it’s no wonder Kids in the Park makes Sydney Olympic Park the official home of the biggest range of school holiday activities of any single location in NSW!

The Kids in the Park July 2011 program commenced on Saturday 2 July and will end on Sunday 17 July.
