Sydney’s Biggest School Holiday Activity Program For The Summer Holidays
With school holidays almost upon us, Sydney Olympic Park is providing unrivalled opportunities for kids of all ages, with its popular ‘Kids in the Park’ program offering activities ranging from writing workshops and skateboard clinics to kite-flying and archery.
Minister for Sport and Recreation, Gabrielle Upton, said that the ‘Kid’s in the Park’ program provides more than sixty separate activities, many of which are low-cost or free, across the summer school holidays.
“As both a Minister and a mother, I understand just how important keeping our kids healthy and active is. Programs like ’Kids in the Park’ provide a wide variety of opportunities to keep kids active and entertained these school holidays” Ms Upton said.
“It’s great to see our major sports coming to the party, with AFL coaching clinics and the AC Milan junior soccer camp, plus free entry for junior tennis fans with any paying adult on 6 January to the APIA International Sydney tennis tournament at the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre.”
Ms Upton encouraged parents to take advantage of the Kids in the Park activities which run throughout the school holidays from 21 December through to 26 January next year.
“Kids can stay physically active with everything from the high trapeze and high diving to gymnastics, disc golf to circus skills and BMX biking, while their minds can be just as active at writing workshops, painting, and digital filmmaking and exploring the weird world of science in Fizzics workshops.
“Kids from age two right up to 18 are catered for with some activities specially designed for the whole family, including Sydney Olympic Park’s free outdoor movies program, Movies by the Boulevard, running from 2 through to 19 January,” Ms Upton said.
