Some of Sydney's most popular community cycling and fitness events will headline the 2014 Festival of Cycling and Wellbeing at Sydney Olympic Park from Saturday 11 October – Sunday 9 November (inclusive).
Marking its 10th year of operation at Sydney Olympic Park, this year's Festival features more than just cycling-based events to encourage more Sydneysiders to get active and cognisant about the importance of fitness this spring.

Sat-Sun 11-12 October: The Sunsuper ride to Conquer Cancer
The Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer will see thousands of riders of all abilities take part at their own pace to help raise funds for the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse of RPA - a cancer treatment and research facility providing integrated care and support to public/private patients.
The two-day ride will begin at 7.00am on Olympic Boulevard beneath the Olympic Cauldron, before finishing at the same position at 5.00pm on 12 October after a winding route that covers approximately 100 kilometres per day.

Sat-Sun 18-19 October - Fitness Show NSW
NEW to the Festival, the Fitness Show NSW will showcase the latest fitness gadgets, accessories and clothing, live sporting events and feature fitness celebrities including Commando Steve who will run VIP training sessions.
The event will be held at Sydney Showground and will start at 9:30am and end at 5:30pm on both days.

Sun 19 October: Brompton Australian Championships
This year the highly-loved and highly compact Brompton bikes will hit Olympic Boulevard with riders from around Australia, Oceania and South-East Asia for a fun-filled day of racing to take out the grand prize that includes return flights to the UK to represent Australia in the 2015 Brompton World Championships.

Sun 19 October: Sydney Club Cup
The Sydney Club Cup will host a competitive race conducted across four grades, with the main event seeing Sydney’s elite ride in a rare club level team event.
The race will commence at 8:00am until 4:00pm and entry costs $5 - $25. FREE for spectators to watch.
Sun 19 October: Handcycling Criterium
The Handcycling Criterium showcases the best handcyclists from across the state, racing in teams from a range of clubs. The event is FREE however all competitors must be members of Wheelchair Sports NSW.

Sun 19 October: Real Insurance Spring Cycle - supported by Transport for NSW
The annual Real Insurance Spring Cycle supported by Transport for NSW attracts more than 10,000 riders in a celebration of cycling.
The ‘Classic’ ride starts in North Sydney and continues across the Sydney Harbour Bridge and on to the festival-style atmosphere and finishes at Cathy Freeman Park at Sydney Olympic Park, where there'll be music, food, exhibitors and entertainment at the finish line.
Entry costs $30-$95 for adults depending on the ride chosen (three ride options available), FREE for children under 16 with every paying adult (children not permitted on Challenge Ride). Sun 19 October: Networking Intensive Training Summit
The Networking Intensive Training Summit is a one-day summit (9:30am – 5:30pm) at Sydney Showground for fitness instructors to educate themselves in either two strands: training women or training groups in a day of fun and fitness.
The cost of entry is $199 for members and $219 for non-members. For ages 18-70.

Sun 12 October - Sun 26 October: Sydney BMX Club Point Series
The Sydney BMX Club Point Series race is an adventure day with some of Australia’s best budding BMX riders.

For the first time at Sydney Olympic Park, the Virtual Sportsfest is a ground-breaking sport focused schools program designed to connect students and teachers with sports education resources, knowledge, career/study pathways and engaging opportunities to get active!

Sun 2 November: Rebel Run Sydney
For elite runners, wheelchair athletes and walkers, the Rebel Run Sydney presented by The Sun-Herald is a fun run for everyone to enjoy. Choose between a 3km run or master a 10km or half marathon.
The half marathon is at 6.45am, the 10km run at 8am and the 3km fun run is at 9.30am all at Olympic Boulevard.
Sun 9 November: Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge
The Financial Review Corporate Cycling Challenge will be back for another year and will offer teams the chance to compete in a team time trial format against World Tour Cyclists.
