Ticket-holders urged to take public transport to Sydney Royal Easter Show 2016 - At Sydney Olympic Park (not Homebush)

The Sydney Royal Easter Show will be on from 17-30 March 2016 at the Sydney Showground at Sydney Olympic Park – not Homebush.

Media reporters and commentators are reminded that Sydney Olympic Park is a suburb, as declared by the NSW Geographical Naming Board. Please use the correct reference ‘Sydney Olympic Park’ (or ‘Olympic Park’) and NOT Homebush, which is a separate suburb serviced by its own railway station approximately three kilometres away from Olympic Park station. Incorrect reference to the venue causes confusion and leads commuters to disembark at the wrong suburb.

Australia's largest annual event, more than 800,000 people visit the Show each year. Sydney Olympic Park will be exceptionally busy during the Show's opening dates, when multiple events will be staged at Olympic Park.

Increased public transport services will operate daily during the Show. ShowLink ticketholders are strongly advised to leave the car at home and instead take public transport. Same-day return public transport is included in the cost of ShowLink tickets.

Those planning to drive to the Show despite advice otherwise should pre-book parking via the Sydney Olympic Park website for a flat rate of $25 for single-use entry and exit from the selected car park.

With road closures in placed, motorists should also refer to sydneyolympicpark.com.au for alternative driving routes to-and-from Sydney Olympic Park.
