The Ubiquitous Nature of Sleep
Collection of Works
Initially, the direction in which my body of work was headed was very volatile. Not one medium nor another stood out. Through my preliminary course, my Visual Arts teacher had organised encaustic and digital workshops, which began to form the basis of my work. Come April 2020, mid HSC, COVID-19 meant all progress toward the work would be done from home. I began experimenting with paints, primarily acrylics. Having explored the works of artists such as Gordon Bennett and Fiona Hall, I pursued a more conceptual, abstract approach that revolved around the concepts of negative capability, existentialism and free-verse imagery.
