Regeneration is the Origin of Every Cell
Collection of Works
My body of work studies the tenuous ideas of life as birth, growth and regeneration and how we remember these simplicities through symbols. I wanted to investigate how we share this imagery such as how from the cocoon a butterfly emerges dramatically regenerated from the insect it once was. Within a series of sculptures and drawings, I have constructed remnants that remind us of organs, the body and cells that act as places of regeneration through my material choice. My body of work is a statement about the beauty in the abstraction of life and of the cocoon as a fertile and transcendent organ.
