Lost in the City
My body of work explores our relationship to the social pressures we face. We live in a fast-paced society and high expectations are created from a young age. There has been a statistical increase in mental illness in today’s society. Each of my four portraits represents an everyday, ordinary individual. They could be anyone, no matter age or background, but they all face the same pressures. The densely crowded city around the portraits expresses the lack of breathing space. In the dark and packed concrete jungle, expressionless characters suggest a sense of loss.
