Clamor Virorum

There has always been a prestigious stigma surrounging male gender expressing their emotions. Men have always been encouraged to portray themselves as strong and unemotional; to reject any form of soft affection and melancholy. Socially, this subject is present even in todays 'modern society', greatly impacting the wellbeing of millions of men. My body of work explores the intimate and personal space of the shower. An environment where emothions can be expressed without fear of belittlement or judgement as 'no-one can distinguish the tears from the water'. Throughout my artmaking I had many cases where i struggled to produce works that I was happy with, but i pushed theough and eventually produced works which I felt supported and expressed the concept of toxic masculinity.
