Love bird watching? Sydney Olympic Park is a haven for ‘Twitchers’ with over a quarter of Australia’s birds being spotted here.
If you're lucky you may also see one of our migratory birds visiting from as far away as Siberia.
Our species include:
- Superb Fairy-wren, Double-barred Finch, Spotted Pardalote, Grey Fantail and Red-browed Finch.
- White-bellied Sea-Eagles, Black-shouldered Kite and Nankeen Kestrel.
- Red-rumped Parrot and Mangrove Gerygone, Red-necked Avocet and Black-winged Stilts.1
See how many you can spot from hotspots like our riverside walkway, woodlands, mangroves, Waterbird Refuge, Northern Water Feature, Narawang Wetland and Lake Belvedere.
(Parking is generally available within Bicentennial Park (P10) which isn't far from Lake Belvedere.)
NB. Do not feed wild birds as it can make them ill and encourages aggressive species.
