The Red Road We Walk is Lost in the Flood
Graphic Design
As a child of Chinese immigrants in Australia, I have a complicated relationship with assimilation and the dual nature of my identity. In my body of work, a figurative representation of this experience, a persona of a bewildered wanderer is faced with the uncanny familiarity of fantastical landscapes. Each landscape features water and the colour red: both significant motifs in Chinese culture. By creating a dissonance between the self and the world, my work explores the visceral discord of multiple identities at conflict within me.
