Transport

The Authority seeks to maximise use of public transport by people visiting, living, working and studying at the Park; working collaboratively with Transport for NSW in reviewing and improving services. We also strongly encourage active transport, active walking and cycling is better for your well being and better for the environment.

Close to 3 million people visited the parklands throughout the year, a 12% increase on 2018–19! See how you can lower your carbon emissions by public and active transport.

Day-to-day Public Transport at Sydney Olympic Park 

Trains run between Sydney Olympic Park Station and Lidcombe Station every ten minutes on weekdays.

Five bus routes regularly service Sydney Olympic Park, providing connections to Newington, Lidcombe, Burwood, Strathfield, Parramatta, Rhodes, Top Ryde and Chatswood.

Ferries operate between the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf, the City and Parramatta.

Public Transport for Major Events at Sydney Olympic Park

Mass transit Integrated ticketing (train and bus travel) is included for all major events at the Park. During 2019-20, 62% of 289,165 patrons travelled to major events by public transport or charter buses. See what transport is available during major events at Sydney Olympic Park. 

Future Public Transport Connections at Sydney Olympic Park

The State Government formally committed to the Sydney Metro West project with a station at Sydney Olympic Park! Sydney Olympic Park has also been selected as a potential stop for Stage 2 of the Parramatta light Rail project. The Authority has been working closely with project delivery teams, community groups and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for Sydney Olympic Park customers. 

Sydney Olympic Park Authority has even started a two-year trial of autonomous vehicles with a Driverless Shuttle Bus. The bus operated live on roads until COVID-19 restrictions were introduced in March 2020. Watch this space for updates!

Take advantage of Active Transport at Sydney Olympic Park

The number of cyclists visiting the Parklands continues to grow, with over 1.2 million cyclists in 2019–20, the highest number since records began in 2005–06. This is an increase of 18% from 2018-19. And no wonder, with 35km of safe cycleways alongside Olympic icons, spectacular parklands and areas of cultural heritage.
