Things to do

Explore Sydney Olympic Park and take in some of the most breath-taking views in Sydney.

Woo-la-ra

Woo-la-ra (of Aboriginal origin, meaning 'look-out place') dominates the riverside area of the Park near Wentworth Point, and offers twisting paths that lead to a summit with breathtaking 360-degree views of Newington Nature Reserve, surrounding urban landscapes and the city skyline.

The Markers

The five Sydney Olympic Park Markers are a series of conical shaped earth mounds that are 10-20m high and are made from material unsuitable for re-use in construction. Together, they resemble the Southern Cross on the Australian flag!

These 'geometric forms' are easily accessible on bike, wheelchair or foot and serve to orient you within the park, providing views of the following:

  • Bay Marker at Wentworth Common.
  • Haslams Marker at Southern End of Hill Road.
  • River Marker at Blaxland Riverside Park.
  • Silverwater Marker next to Woo-la-ra.
  • Bicentennial Marker on Australia Avenue.

Other viewing opportunities in the Park include:

  • Kronos Hill, overlooking Haslams Creek.
  • Shipwreck viewing platform, on the water's edge at Homebush Bay.
  • Treillage Tower, at the highest point of Bicentennial Park.
