Parking FAQs

Frequently asked questions about parking at Sydney Olympic Park.

Major events

How long does it take to leave the car park?

After major events when everyone wants to leave at once, it can take more than 1 hour to exit car parks. Where possible, plan to park at a car park further from your event to get home quicker. We appreciate your patience.

I forgot to pre-book parking for tonight's event. What now?

The pre-book parking system closes at 11:59 pm the day before an event.

Casual parking is generally available during large events.

When you arrive, please follow the signs for available parking.

You can also catch public transport with some tickets including free bus and/or train travel. Visit Transport for NSW for details.

What if car parks have reached capacity?

If you did not pre-book your parking, we recommend that you park near one of the train stations or bus stops shown on the map and use public transport to enter Sydney Olympic Park.

Increased services are generally arranged by Transport for NSW on event days. For the most up-to-date public transport information visit or call 131 500.

What is a major event?

Major events are generally an individual event or a combination of events that attracts over 50,000 people to the Park. Examples can include AFL and NRL Finals, Sydney Royal Easter Show, State of Origin, Bledisloe Cup, Cricket, Soccer and Rugby Internationals, Accor Stadium concerts and events integrated tickets may operate during a major event.

What if I ignore parking signs and time limits?

If you park outside a marked bay or ignore parking signs, you may be fined.

We are a designated Restricted Parking Area.

Can I leave my car overnight and collect it the following day? Does this cost more than one full-day payment?

You can leave your car overnight.

A full day’s parking fee starts from the time you enter the car park. For example, you can enter at 3 pm, Saturday 12 March, and stay until 2.59 pm, Sunday 13 March.

Does P5 run shuttles for all major concerts? How do I get from P5 to the precinct?

Car Park Shuttle provision is determined by the estimated levels of car parking for each event. Shuttles are provided to car parks where we are directing vehicles to park and may not include P5. If it is anticipated that parking in P5 is not required, there will be no shuttles.

All major venues are a 15 minute walk from P5.

Someone offered to sell me their parking – can I guarantee this is a genuine ticket?

No refund or exchange on any ticket except as required by law and as otherwise specified by the seller. Tickets are not transferable, and bar codes will honour only 1 enter and exit - on selling of a ticket could potentially be a scam.

How far in advance can parking be booked?

Pre-booked parking is available from usually 6 months up until midnight the day before you require a car space. It secures you a car space within your desired Car Park for a 24-hour period. Pre-book parking here.

How do I book an accessible parking spot?

Sydney Olympic Park has over 300 accessible and mobility car parking spaces available.

To guarantee a space, pre-book parking by purchasing a standard space in your preferred car park with appropriate height clearances and use an accessible space on the day of your visit.

Please visit our accessible parking page for more information.

I’m visiting from overseas – can I pre-book parking?

No, you can not book from overseas. Please contact us on for any further information.

Can I get a refund if I’m no longer attending the precinct/concert?

No refund or exchange on any ticket except as required by law and as otherwise specified by the seller.

All parking ticket purchases on the Authority’s website are final and cannot be cancelled once confirmed. Please select tickets carefully as we do not provide refunds where you may change your mind about attending an event, or where you can no longer attend on that date.

If an event for which you have purchased parking is cancelled or rescheduled, we will refund you the full purchase cost of your Eticket(s).

Please note that your Eticket will NOT be valid for the rescheduled date. Please contact us in a timely manner and provide the original ticket(s) and/or proof of purchase and we will refund to you the full purchase cost of your Eticket(s).

Is there street parking?

In addition to our car parks, there are free, time-limited on-street parking spaces available within the Town Centre including along Olympic Boulevard, Murray Rose Avenue, Dawn Fraser Avenue, Figtree Drive, Herb Elliot Avenue, Showground Road, Grand Parade and Parkview Drive.

Pay-and-display street parking is also available at $7 an hour capped at $35 per day along Herb Elliot Avenue, Dawn Fraser Avenue and Showground Road.

Street parking may not always be available during major events due to road closures in place. You can find out more about road closures for a particular date on our interactive map.

Sydney Olympic Park is a restricted parking area so you must only park in marked bays. Parking outside of a marked bay or staying longer than the time permitted puts you at risk of an infringement.
