A message to our community in our efforts to prevent COVID-19

14 May 2020

Update: 14 May 2020

Following the advice from NSW Health beginning Friday 15 May 2020, the following changes will be implemented across the Park

  • Sydney Olympic Park’s playgrounds, park benches and outdoor gym will re-open.
  • The water play area at Blaxland Riverside Park will remain closed.
  • Additional customer service staff will be on site at Blaxland Riverside Park, Bicentennial Park and Cathy Freeman Park over the weekend to ensure social distancing and good hygiene requirements are followed.
  • Cafes and restaurants continue to offer a range of takeaway and delivery options.
  • The Aquatic Centre, Athletic Centre, Archery Centre, Sports Halls, Quaycentre & Hockey Centre remain closed.
  • Bookings are not available for sites or spaces across Sydney Olympic Park for dates up to and including 30 June. From 1 July all bookings are subject to the COVID-19 health advice and government restrictions in place for the booking date. Each booking is subject to confirmation closer the booked date.

Our primary concern is the safety of our visitors and staff.

We ask all visitors to work with us in our efforts to prevent COVID-19 and be vigilant in their personal hygiene, social distancing and avoid attending our venues if unwell.

Sydney Olympic Park Authority will continue to review its management of venues following expert advice from NSW Health and the Commonwealth Government.

Whilst we apologise for any disruption, we trust you understand our decisions and role in supporting public health.

Signage has been placed throughout our venues to help communicate the importance of hand washing, covering your sneezes or coughs, and staying home if unwell.

Certain activities have been modified where possible and without compromising safety to ensure social distancing is practised.

Our cleaners have response kits ready in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19 at our venue, and are using the latest hospital grade cleaning materials.
Increased cleaning protocols for gymnastics are in place including deliberate handwashing of all participants at the commencement of lessons; modification of certain physical activities to minimise social distancing; wiping and cleaning of equipment between classes and after lessons.
